ABOUT
I am an architect with over twelve years of practice across residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects, from concept through construction coordination. The thread running through all of it has been a persistent question: how do the tools we use change what we can build, and how we think about building it.
That question led me from practice into continued education in human interaction and AI, focusing on the space between human intent and machine intelligence, and what happens when you design that interface deliberately.
Today I continue to practice architecture while building AI tools that serve real design workflows: regulatory assistants trained on construction law, generative systems that respond to drawing in real time, installations that make AI tangible for live audiences. I know how buildings get made and I know how to build the systems that are beginning to reshape that process.

AI & ARCHITECTURE

AI FOR ARCHITECTURE
Through workshops, lectures, and public speaking engagements, I explore how artificial intelligence can be integrated into contemporary architectural practice. The sessions focus on practical workflows, demonstrating how AI tools can support design exploration, visualization, research, and decision making throughout the architectural process. Throughout the program, case studies, live demonstrations, hands on exercises, and public engagements help architects understand both the opportunities and limitations of AI, while developing practical skills for applying these tools in real design work.

DRAWING IS THE PROMPT

SPACE AND LAW
AI assistants for legal and technical regulations in architecture and construction.
Built to streamline access to public regulatory data, it aggregates and structures information from official sources, laws, rulebooks, and planning documents, into clear, verifiable answers with precise references. The system reduces uncertainty and eliminates guesswork by grounding every output in traceable legal context, enabling architects to work faster, with confidence and compliance.
Developed and tested through workshops with practicing architects, it is designed as a practical tool for real-world workflows, adaptable to specific project and regulatory needs.

Microsoft Belgrade
Developed for Microsoft, these interactive installations explore how artificial intelligence can act as a real-time creative partner rather than a passive tool. Through drawing and movement, users engage directly with generative systems that respond instantly to their input, creating continuous feedback loops between human intention and machine output. The work focuses on making AI more intuitive, accessible, and experiential—transforming it into a medium for interaction, exploration, and collective creativity.

Residential and commercial building within Block 15, Belgrade Waterfront, designed as two parallel towers connected through shared infrastructure and ground-level activation. The project responds to strict urban constraints while organizing program, circulation, and massing into a coherent and efficient system
Positioning and massing are defined by urban planning rules, including minimum distances between buildings and alignment with surrounding structures. The design follows regulatory constraints while maintaining clear spatial logic and parallel tower organization.
The building integrates residential and commercial programs with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and efficient circulation. Massing and orientation respond to site conditions, optimizing daylight, access, and structural simplicity while maintaining a strong architectural identity.

The project consists of a series of small multi-family residential buildings developed over time within the Padina settlement. Built with limited resources and clear investor constraints, the architecture focuses on efficiency, simplicity, and adaptability.
Despite being situated in an informal context, the design introduces consistency through repeated structural logic, minimal material use, and clear organization of units ranging from 35 to 50 m². Open ground floors, simple roof geometries, and neutral facades create a coherent identity across multiple buildings.Rather than imposing a formal architectural language, the project operates within its context, demonstrating how modest interventions can improve living conditions and spatial quality in environments shaped by irregular growth.

The project is located within the archaeological site of Mediana in Niš, requiring an intervention that preserves the remains while improving accessibility and public engagement. The design responds to the need for protection, presentation, and contemporary interpretation of the site.
The intervention introduces a new architectural layer that sits above the existing remains, allowing visitors to access and experience the site without directly impacting it. Designed as a lightweight, permeable structure, the building “floats” within the context, preserving the character of the archaeological landscape while redefining its use as a contemporary exhibition space. This approach establishes a dialogue between the historical layer and the present, enabling both preservation and reinterpretation within a single spatial system.

Located in Belgrade’s historic inner core near Kalemegdan, the site is defined by a mix of architectural styles from different periods, with a strong presence of neoclassical buildings. The project responds to this layered context and its sensitive urban character.
Contemporary infill volume integrated into a historically layered context through neutral massing and proportional alignment. Facade articulation introduces variation through openings and terraces, while maintaining a coherent overall form and respecting the surrounding urban fabric.

"Veljko was a key contributor in a senior architectural role, demonstrating a high level of precision, responsibility, and clarity in both design and technical development. He consistently navigated complex challenges while maintaining a strong architectural vision. He is reliable in coordination, efficient in delivery, and works with a strong sense of ownership and professionalism."
Jovan Mitrović
Director, LFG.

"Veljko Ćirić delivered a clear and thoughtful lecture on how AI can support architectural practice without compromising creative judgment. His approach clearly articulated how AI can support research, documentation, and communication, while emphasizing the importance of maintaining critical judgment and creative intuition in the design process. What we particularly valued was the focus on a gradual, bottom up adoption of AI tools, grounded in real needs and practical challenges faced by architectural teams."

"Veljko brings a rare combination of architectural understanding, AI literacy, and critical thinking. In our collaboration through the Association of Serbian Architectural Practices, he consistently demonstrated the ability to move beyond tool usage and address how artificial intelligence fundamentally reshapes design processes, authorship, and professional responsibility. His lectures and workshops stand out for their clarity and depth, translating complex computational systems into actionable and intellectually grounded insights for architectural practice. Veljko operates comfortably at the intersection of theory and implementation, making him a valuable contributor to both research driven and practice oriented contexts."

"The most interesting art experience I've had recently in Belgrade, connecting two worlds - analog and digital with your creativity. Big learning from this installations is authenticity. Kori's artwork remained authentic, while AI was taking it to a new dimensions, with movement and 3D textures. Such a fantastic blend. Amazing, you have to experience it! Congrats to Nikola Kori, Veljko and Enes!"
